Adventures in Medicine and Science (AIMS)
On Thursday, April 27, students in Mark Popovich’s science classes participated in an
interactive virtual cadaver demonstration courtesy of the Adventures in Medicine and
Science (AIMS) program—a division of the Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
The demonstration is designed to expose students to the physiological and anatomic
relationships of the major organ systems of the human body. A description of how those
systems can be affected by disease was provided. The demonstration was conducted by
medical students and professionals in health careers.

“Love Beyond Measure”
Author Visits Hampton High
School
Katie Schell, author of “Love Beyond Measure,” visited
with Hampton High School students from 9:45 to 10:45
a.m. on Monday, April 17, in the Hampton High School
Auditorium.
“Love Beyond Measure” is the true story of Schell’s
mother, Pega Crimbchin. The memoir follows Crimbchin’s
life as a peasant living in Seoul, South Korea. Following
the devastation of the Korean War, Crimbchin becomes
an orphan and is later forced into slavery with another
family. This heartbreaking tale describes years living
in poverty, enslavement and unspeakable suffering
and finding the courage and strength that carried her
from that life to one as an American citizen. Crimbchin
accompanied Schell on the visit to Hampton and spoke
to students about her life as part of the presentation.
