Guest speakers at the ceremony included

Aquinas Academy third-grader Mary
Osburg recently participated and placed in
a national art competition sponsored by T.J.
Maxx. The company held the contest for
kids in 2015 to support “Save the Children,”
a charity supported by T.J. Maxx for over
three decades that provides assistance to 25%
of children living in poverty all across the
country. Twenty-five contest winners were
named in the U.S., with just one winner from
the state of Pennsylvania.
All participants in the contest were 14 years
old or younger, and submissions were judged
based on how original, creative and applicable
they were to the theme “What’s your favorite
thing in the whole world?”
“I was really surprised to be a winner and
get so many cool prizes, but I felt even happier
to know that the contest helps children,” says
Osburg.
Proud of her creative accomplishment,
Aquinas Academy’s art teacher Brady
Buchanan says, “Mary has always excelled at
art. It’s something that she works on at home
as much as she does in class. My f f
