Greensburg Hempfield Area Library Below are some of the programs offered at the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library. A full schedule is located online. R (3 years and older)  aturdays, Feb. 16, March 16, S April 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This program is for anyone (3 years old and up) who would enjoy or benefit from reading to a therapy dog. Bring along a favorite book or choose from our selection and spend some time reading to the therapy dogs. There is no advance registration for this program, and we will accommodate as many children as possible during the hour.  to 5 Year Olds Story Hour 3 (ages 3 to 5 years)  uesdays, Feb. 5 to April 30, T from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Come for fun with circle time, stories, crafts, treats and more! Please arrive at 9 a.m. to complete registration and for practice play. The tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m., and play will continue until all participants have played five rounds. First and second place in both divisions will receive a trophy and be invited to the County Tournament. Advance registration online, by phone or in the children’s library is necessary to participate. Middle School Maker Mondays (ages 11 to 14 years or grades 6 to 8) Mondays, Feb. 25, March 25, April 29, May 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Do you like to make things, create crafts or experiment with tech? Then you’re a MAKER. On Middle School Maker Mondays, we will experiment with different tools and techniques for making stuff. Each session will have one main activity as well as other optional activities for you to choose from. Chess Club (ages 8 years through adult) Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 6 p.m. Saturdays, March 30 and May 18, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m. This group is a friendly, intergenerational group for people who like chess! In these informal sessions hosted by Oliver Kiefer (a teacher at Greater Latrobe School District), we will learn from each other and enjoy the opportunity to play games against each other. All levels of play are welcome. Please note, participants should come with some knowledge of how to play. This will not be a chess instructional session.
