Over 50 girls in grades 3 through 6 enrolled in the program to learn the game, develop their skills, and practice teamwork on the court. Maddie Henry, a Nicely 3rd grader from Mrs. Stamford’s class, said she loved being a part of the program because her big sister Paytan is on the 8th grade team. “I like that we all work together,” stated Maddie. Fourth-grader Emily Smith, from Mrs. Funk’s class at Metzgar, plans to be 36 greensburg salem on the middle school team when she is a little older. When asked what she thought was the best part of the program, she was quick to report “layup drills” as her favorite! Coach Klimchock recognizes the importance of not only bringing the love of basketball to the Little Lions of GS, but to also engage his older players in volunteer activities that benefit others. “Every time we do this camp, I look forward to it and have a lot of fun,” said Coach Klimchock. “We’re enhancing the future of the girls’ basketball program by getting students excited early on!”
