stark contrast to many families whose gifts
overflow the Christmas tree.
Founded in 1987, The Spirit of Christmas
is an all-volunteer organization dedicated
to helping families and the elderly in need
at Christmas by providing toys, clothes and
food that are far beyond the reach of their
limited finances.
Bob’s Garage Restaurant and Lounge in
Fox Chapel on Freeport Road holds events
each year during which tips are donated to
help purchase Christmas gifts and food for
those in need. Special entertainers and local
celebrities donate their time by appearing
and there is no cover charge to attend.
Yahtzee games and 50/50 raffles are held,
and grab bags are also sold to help raise
funds for The Spirit of Christmas.
The events began on Dec. 2 and will
continue through Dec. 22. Some of the
entertainers include The Biker Boys, Jon
Cevario, and Mike and John’s Acoustic Jam.
