SENECA VALLEY ACCEPTED INTO NATIONAL NETWORK OF INNOVATIVE SCHOOL DISTRICTS Seneca Valley School District was selected to join the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools, the largest national network of forward-thinking school districts in the country.
Chosen from a competitive pool of applicants, the district was recognized for its strong leadership, commitment to excellence, and innovative programs, including the awardwinning Ehrman Crest Elementary / Middle School and the Seneca Valley Academy of Choice.
As part of the league, Seneca Valley will collaborate with 34 other newly accepted districts— forming the largest cohort to date— and gain access to cutting-edge technology initiatives, pilot programs, professional learning opportunities, and national conferences.
Superintendent Dr. Tracy Vitale said the district looks forward to both learning from and contributing to the network, particularly in areas such as future-ready learning spaces, career readiness, and community partnerships.
Digital Promise leaders emphasized that the league provides a trusted community where district leaders can share strategies and develop real-world solutions that shape the future of public education. With this year’ s additions, membership totals 175 districts across 35 states, impacting more than 4.4 million students.
APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR THE 20TH ANNUAL BOB FRYER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania is accepting applications for its 20th annual Bob Fryer Memorial Scholarship($ 5,000) and the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania Scholarship($ 2,500)— both designed for outstanding undergraduate journalism students pursuing careers in print, broadcasting or multimedia.
Applicants must be sophomores or juniors enrolled in accredited colleges or universities with permanent residence in one of 29 Western Pennsylvania counties.
Winners will be honored at the annual Golden Quills Awards Dinner in Pittsburgh, and scholarship funds will be applied directly to their school accounts.

RED CROSS CALLS FOR VOLUNTEERS
The American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania issued an urgent call for volunteers as disaster response demands continue to grow.
With volunteers making up 90 % of its workforce, the organization is seeking help to respond to both local emergencies, like home fires, and large-scale disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires.
Key opportunities include serving on Disaster Action Teams to support families after local emergencies, working in local shelters, or traveling nationwide to assist after major disasters.
