INEVENTS Baby Farm Animals Star at Harmony Event The Harmony Museum teamed up with Butler County 4-H to sponsor a Small Farm Animals Day on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harmonist Barn, located at 303 Mercer Road in Harmony. The event was a chance for families to meet baby farm animals and the 4-H youths who care for them. Lambs, goats, rabbits, alpacas and a calf were on display and available for petting. The 1805 Harmonist Barn—one of the oldest existing barns west of the Allegheny Mountains— contains some of the museum’s collection of early farm tools and equipment. Antique farm tractors were also on display, and vendors of farm products and crafts had their products for sale. Butler County has 25 different 4-H clubs with more than 330 members taking on small and large animal projects as well as sewing, baking, shooting sports and robotics, among others. It is part of the nation’s largest non-formal youth development organization that provides its members, ages 8 to 19, the opportunity to “learn by doing” through a variety of hands-on projects.
