2016 CRANBERRY
RELAY FOR LIFE “PAINT
YOUR WORLD PURPLE
KICKOFF”
The color purple is said to uplift, calm
and encourage creativity – the perfect
color to represent cancer survival and the
dedicated volunteers that make up the
2016 Cranberry Relay for Life (CRFL).
The nonprofit’s “Paint Your World
Purple Kickoff ” was held at the Cranberry
Elks Lodge in Cranberry Township on
Mar. 16. Forty teams are now registered
with CRFL, and the year’s main relay
event will be held on Saturday, July 23
beginning at 10 a.m. in Cranberry’s North
Boundry Park.
“The thing that I love about Relay is
that it brings so many diverse groups
of people together to fight cancer,” says
Bobby Cherry, lead volunteer and event
organizer for the American Cancer
Society’s East Central Division Relay for
Life. “When you support Relay, you are
providing a beacon of hope to someone
right now who is suffering from the
disease.”
The public is invited to attend CRFL.
