Chartiers Valley Fall Sports

This Fall was the first time in over 15 years where all Fall Sports have made the playoffs
The Boys team won the Section Championship and the girls team finished in 2nd place. Sophie Kanownik and Adeline Benaquista will compete for the PIAA State Championships November 1st at Hershey.
Jack Sexton competed in the WPIAL Championships and finished 17th out of 36 golfers. Gavin Waldrom and Niko Fodor advanced to the WPIAL Semi Finals, and Ryan Viola made his first hole in one early in the season on # 4 at Fort Cherry golf course.
The Chartiers Valley Girls Tennis team put together a season filled with growth and determination, highlighted by Carly Weber’ s impressive 7-3 regular season record and a section singles run which led to a WPIAL singles berth for the first time.

CV Girls golf had an excellent first year as a club program. They participated in 9 matches and improved every single match. They can’ t wait to become an official part of the WPIAL next year and compete in the section! Aubree Hoover competed in the WPIAL Qualifier this past season in the Girls Golf inaugural season.
Girls Volleyball finished 2nd in the conference and finished with a 15-5 record. They advanced to the WPIAL Quarterfinal for the second year in a row where they fell to Beaver. Payton Friburger, Tessa Zemaitis, Megan Dumpman, Bella Fries, & Sophia Russell all received All-Star selections.
For the first time since 2017, the Girls Soccer Team competed in the WPIAL playoffs and seeded # 13. Kennedy Kuntz was selected to the WPIAL All-Section Team.
The Boys Soccer Team came in 2nd in their conference and seeded 6th. The Boys Soccer team hosted the first round playoff game, which was the first time since 2017. The Boys team advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to Franklin Regional. Vincent Depietro, Zach Knause, Luke Waldron, and Jonah Mastren-Willams all received All-Section recognition.

The Varsity Football team finished the regular season 7-3, the best record since 2009. The Football team had an overtime thrilling win against West Allegheny and a 36-35 victory over Belle Vernon. The team will travel to play top seeded McKeesport on Friday in the WPIAL Quarterfinals.
