We are looking to profile students who are excelling in a particular high school sport . Please email editors @ icmags . com . To be considered , the email subject line must say HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETE FOR ( NAME OF HIGH SCHOOL ) and you must submit a hi-res ( 300 dpi , at least 1MB ) photo of your child in uniform attached to the email . Please include your child ’ s name , grade , and a brief description of accomplishments along with your email address and phone number .

Volunteer firefighters answer the call to care on cold , dark nights . They give of their time , talent and hearts to help protect the people of their community . If you would like to join these individuals in their service , contact the local fire companies below to learn more about their requirements for becoming a firefighter .
If you would like to make a contribution to ensure that your local fire company has the equipment and training it needs , visit online or call to learn how you can help . Firefighters must complete many long hours of training in firefighting techniques . Besides fighting fires , they also provide fire safety education to the community .
Another great way to support a local fire company is by renting the social hall for your next birthday party , banquet or meeting . With most fire departments , you do not need to be a member of the company to rent the social hall .

FEEDING THE COMMUNITY
This time of year can be especially hard for families and workers who ’ ve experienced layoffs . The Bridgeville Community Food Bank is operated out of Bethany Presbyterian Church and distributes food to Chartiers Valley School District families in need .
