As the school year draws to a close, our students have been busy celebrating accomplishments, exploring new places, and sharing their talents with the community. From athletic milestones to unforgettable field trips and inspiring musical performances, it has been a season filled with energy, pride, and memorable moments. hartiers Valley CHARTIERS VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS

This spring, many of our students laced up their sneakers and completed in two beloved running programs: Kids of Steel and Girls on the Run. These programs challenge students not only to build endurance and strength but also to develop confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits. Week after week, participants trained with dedication, encouraging one another and celebrating each milestone along the way.

Their hard work culminated in final runs that showcased just how far they’ ve come. Families and staff cheered as students crossed their finish lines with pride, proving that perseverance and community support make every step meaningful.

Our students also had the chance to take their learning beyond the classroom through a series of exciting field trips. Third graders explored the Heinz History Center, where they discovered stories of Pittsburgh’ s past and connected local history to the world around them. Hands-on exhibits and interactive displays made the experience both educational and fun. Meanwhile, fourth graders enjoyed a double‐feature adventure. They toured PNC Park, getting a behind-the-scenes look at one of the city’ s most iconic landmarks, and then headed to the Rangos Giant Cinema for a film experience that blended entertainment with learning. It was a day filled with curiosity, excitement, and plenty of wide-eyed moments.

Our fifth graders took a big step toward the future with a visit to BizTown, where they participated in a full work simulation. Students took on real-world roles, from business managers to financial officers, and learned what it takes to run a community. The experience gave them a taste of responsibility, collaboration, and problem-solving in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
