Chartiers Valley High School Artists Shine in Scholastic Art Awards
This year, our Chartiers Valley High School student artists achieved their most successful showing ever in the prestigious Scholastic Art Awards competition. Out of just eight student submissions, six students earned awards, resulting in an impressive total of six Silver Keys and three Honorable Mentions. This level of recognition speaks volumes about the creativity, dedication, and artistic growth of our students.
The Scholastic Art Awards are among the most competitive and well-respected student art competitions in the nation, with works judged on originality, technical skill, and personal voice. Student artwork was celebrated and exhibited at Carnegie Mellon University, giving our artists the exciting opportunity to have their work showcased on a college campus known for excellence in the arts.

Chartiers Valley High School Dance Troupe
The Chartiers Valley High School Dance Troupe recently took the national stage at the National Dance Team Championship in Orlando Florida, proudly representing Chartiers Valley High School among the most elite programs in the country. Coached by Mrs. Riley Maghery and Mrs. Cathy Jenkins, the team competed with determination, confidence, and heart, earning an outstanding 2nd Place in the Nation in the Small Varsity Division II Hip Hop category.
This achievement reflects far more than a single performance. It is the result of countless hours of preparation, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and an unwavering commitment to team unity. The dancers carried forward a legacy of pride and tradition that defines Chartiers Valley High School, performing with energy, precision, and professionalism on one of the biggest stages in the nation.
Equally important to this success is the incredible support system surrounding the troupe. The dedication of the dancers’ families, whose encouragement and sacrifices make these opportunities possible, has been instrumental throughout the season. Their support, along with the backing of the Chartiers Valley community and its facilities, continues to build a foundation where student excellence can thrive.
