COMMUNITY SPORTS: STUDENTS COMPETING AND GROWING BEYOND THE SCHOOL DAY
We are also proud of the many Intermediate School students who participate in community athletics throughout the year. Extracurricular sports offer students opportunities to stay active, develop teamwork, and represent our community through sportsmanship and dedication. Many of our students participate in CV Youth Hockey, where they learn skill development, discipline, and the value of teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
Hockey teaches students how to work hard, support teammates, and stay resilient— skills that carry over into school and everyday life.
In addition, a large number of our students are involved in community basketball programs. Basketball provides students with opportunities to develop coordination, strategy, leadership, and communication. It also teaches valuable lessons about effort, persistence, and learning from both wins and losses.
We are also excited to see many of our students participating in community wrestling programs. Wrestling builds strength, agility, self-discipline, and perseverance. It is a sport that emphasizes individual goal-setting while also promoting respect, sportsmanship, and mental toughness. Students involved in wrestling learn to face challenges head-on, manage emotions, and grow through hard work.

The extracurricular success of our students reflects the strong partnership between school, families, and our community. Whether students are performing on stage, running toward a personal goal, designing a creative solution, or competing as part of a team, they are building character and skills that will serve them well in the future.
At the Intermediate School, we are proud to provide opportunities that help students explore interests, develop talents, and build confidence. We look forward to continuing to celebrate student accomplishments throughout the year and encourage all students to get involved, try something new, and find a place to shine.
