CELEBRATE TARTAN DAY !
The St . Andrew ’ s Society of Pittsburgh is hosting its annual Pittsburgh Tartan Day celebration on April 15 at Bethel Presbyterian Church , located at 2999 Bethel Church Road , Bethel Park , from 10 a . m . until 4:30 p . m . This is a free public event , and there will be bagpipers , fiddlers and dancers to entertain you . Celtic workshops will be held , and there will be plenty of food , raffles and Celtic wares for sale . CHARTIERS VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL NAMED ‘ SCHOOL TO WATCH ’
Chartiers Valley Middle School ( CVMS ) has been named a “ school to watch ” under the PA Don Eichhorn Schools : Schools to Watch program . The school has been awarded this designation for excelling in several different categories , including academic excellence . Only nine other schools in Pennsylvania received this recognition .
CVMS was recognized at the Pennsylvania Association for Middle Level Education State Conference in February . It will also be recognized nationally , with all the other designated schools , in Washington , D . C ., in June .

Lifeguard Tess Reinhart
PROVIDENCE POINT LIFEGUARDS SAVE A LIFE !
On Dec . 26 , a resident of Providence Point in Scott Township had a medical emergency while swimming that required lifesaving measures . The experienced Wellness team lifeguards , Cyndi Standaert , Julia Cipollone and Tess Reinhart , as well as Wellness Director Fabi Cheistwer , sprang into action to provide immediate care . Scott Township EMS responders were certain that the quick actions of the team saved the life of the gentleman .
WALK ALONG THE MEADOW PATH
Hilltop Park , located near Nevillewood , has a meandering Meadow Path . This path connects the park from the Tot Lot to the historic Woodville Cemetery next to The Villages at Neville Park . The rolling hills have natural wildflowers , and you may walk your dog on a leash on the path . It ’ s even equipped with pet stations offering free dog waste bags . It ’ s the perfect place for spending time with your best friend .
