Moving on Up

The transition from sixth to seventh grade is a big step for most middle schoolers. Carnegie and Crafton elementary school teachers and administrators highlight this move by honoring sixth graders at the close of the school year with a sixth grade recognition ceremony. The event includes student speakers, awards and time to reflect on the years at the primary and elementary level. Student are recognized and applauded for achievements, both academically and extracurricular.

The end of the year also brings guided tours of the junior-senior high school with students gaining an upclose feel for seventh grade and the school building. A late summer orientation day is also offered for students to walk the hallways with schedule in hand to map out classrooms. arlynton-Montour
