New Electronic Recycling Facility JVS Environmental is opening a NEW PERMANENT ELECTRONICS RECYCLING FACILITY, located at 1 American Way in Ellsworth. The site is located behind the Ellsworth Post Office. Participants will enter the site from Almond Road, past the Beer Here Beer Distributor. JVS Environmental will be managing the site. This site will replace the monthly electronics collection program that was previously held at the Washington County Fairgrounds, then at the Washington Mall site. The site will be open on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Here are the dates for 2019: May 14 July 9 September 10 November 12 May 28 July 23 September 24 November 26 June 11 August 13 October 8 December 10 June 25 August 27 October 22 No Collection Dec. 24 Items to be collected include computer monitors (CRTs and LCDs); computer towers and bases (CPUs); mice, keyboards and speakers; notebook computers; printers; televisions (CRTs and LCDs); Freon appliances; fluorescent tubes and CFL bulbs; and most household appliances. Vacuum cleaners, carpet scrubbers, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors will NOT be accepted. Also, the I-79 ramps at Route 519. The project will add a turning lane on Route 519 from Route 980 to Interstate 79 two sets of signals at Route 519/Interstate 79 to control traffic at the on/ off ramps, and Route 519 will be realigned and moved 150’ to the East to eliminate a 4-way stop condition and will be replaced with a new signal.
