ummer is a great time to read what you like, to learn new
things, and have fun with friends. Your local library offers many
children and family programs and events for all ages throughout
the summer. We’re now taking registrations for our popular
Summer Reading Camp (SRC). Registration for SRC is ongoing, but
class size is limited. Please check availability by calling the Frank
Sarris Library children’s desk at 724.745.1308 extension 4.
The library has other resources to help combat the summer
learning slide while having fun too. Check out one of our nearly
70 Grable Young Explorers kits, which are full of toys, games, and
books on different themes for children from birth through upper
elementary school. Or try a Launchpad! We have them for both
kids and adults. Launchpads are great for summer travel as each
one is preloaded with brain games, crosswords puzzles and many
more fun activities. Just ask at our desk about “Launchpads”!
On our website, franksarrislibrary.org, you can sign up for free
magazines through Zinio and read comics at ComicsPlus and even
take a continuing education course or two from the comfort of
home. All this is found under the Resources page of our website at
franksarrislibrary.org.
Have a safe and fun-filled summer. I will see you around town.
