N Nor th Strabane orth S trabane T NORTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY The NSTMA sanitary sewer system serves roughly 4,600 customers in the Township. The sanitary sewer system consists of eleven (11) pumping stations, including the new Reedville and Martin Farm Pump Stations, and one (1) 99,000 gallons per day sewage treatment plant. CURRENT SANITARY SEWER PROJECTS NSTMA was able to take advantage of low interest rates, with the Township’s assistance, to refund bonds issued in 2003 and access $3,090,000 of new money for future sanitary projects. NSTMA is currently constructing the following projects. Route 519 Sewer Extension Project: The proposed interceptor sewer begins at the Canon Hill Veterinary Clinic by the North Strabane Township Municipal Building on Route 519 and extends along Route 519 to the newly constructed Linden Creek sanitary sewer along Wilson Road ($2,050,000). The initial customer base that will be served by the interceptor includes thirty (30) residences. Route 19 Pump Station Project: The wetwell will be enlarged to increase capacity for the additional flow from the Linden Creek area. The Route 19 Pump Station pump controls and headworks will be upgraded and the wet well will be aerated ($790,000). The project will save NSTMA operations and maintenance costs by eliminating the Speers Run Pump Station. FUTURE SANITARY SEWER PROJECTS NSTMA is currently designing the following projects to achieve “Shovel Ready” status in order to submit these projects for additional funding through federal and state grants. Linden Creek Sewer Extension Project: The interceptor sewer begins at the newly constructed Reedville Pump Station and travels along Chartiers Creek through the Route 519 / Thomas Eighty Four / Brownlee Road Intersection, serving residences approximately 1.5 miles up Route 519 towards Route 136 ($2,740,000). The initial customer base that will be served by the interceptor includes forty (40) residences. Thomas Eighty Four Road Sewer Extension Project: The interceptor sewer begins at the newly constructed Reedville Pump Station and travels along with Chartiers Creek through the Route 519 / Thomas Eighty Four / Brownlee Road Intersection, serving residences ¾ of a mile up Thomas Eighty Four Road ($2,042,000). The initial customer base that will be served by the interceptor includes thirty (30) residences.
