Amazing Athletes Expands in North Strabane
Amazing Athletes Northwest and Southwest Pittsburgh provides children , from as young as 18 months up to sixth grade , with athletic knowledge , fitness and fun year-round .
“ Our goal is for them to learn and enjoy being fit ,” said Danielle Rayman , owner of the program . “ It ’ s a really cool way to get [ kids ] acclimated and get them out of the house .”
This summer , Amazing Athletes brought fun and fitness to various locations across Pittsburgh . The program ’ s summer camps featured alternating weekly themes , introducing campers to new sports and fitness activities . To reach even more children , Amazing Athletes offered several camps in North Strabane .
Kids engaged in a variety of activities , including active games , football , soccer , volleyball , lacrosse , baseball , track and field , tennis , basketball , hockey , golf and more . According to Rayman , participating in sports helps children grow emotionally and physically , improving their fine motor skills , decisionmaking and confidence .
Unique opportunities like Amazing Athletes ’ Superhero Camp create magical experiences for kids , combining imagination with athletics . The program also introduces children to muscle groups and nutrition , fostering an early appreciation for wellness .
Coaches play a personal role in helping kids develop their athletic abilities . With 20 coaches ranging in age from 15 to 60 , each coach is trained in strategies to assist any child struggling with sports , ensuring that everyone can have fun and enjoy athletics .
“ My time working at Amazing Athletes was amazing ,” said Caleb Keffer , a Canon-McMillan student and coach at the camp . “ I had great coworkers , and the camps were very well-designed . Working with the kids is very fun and can certainly help you improve as a person .”
For those who missed the summer camps , Amazing Athletes offers year-round programming , including indoor and outdoor activities , private classes and birthday parties .
“[ The most rewarding part ] is just to see the joy on the kids ’ faces every day because they ’ re doing something new and sharing the love of sports , fitness and being healthy with younger ages that are so used to technology ,” Rayman said .
