Principal Robert Miele

With two young children of his own , Robert Miele enjoys the energy at the elementary level . He began his career as a first-grade teacher at Leesylvania Elementary School and spent nearly a decade in the classroom , teaching various grade levels before becoming principal at Bethlehem-Center Elementary .
Miele ’ s most recent role was assistant principal at Chartiers Valley Middle School , starting in 2022 . Now , he looks forward to returning to the elementary school environment .
“ The biggest thing for me is the excitement you see in an elementary building every day ,” Miele said .
Miele ’ s leadership style emphasizes open communication , organization , being receptive to suggestions and giving teachers a voice in decision-making . “ I want a lot of our decisions to be made as a team with teacher input ,” he said . “ I want to bring that team aspect to this building and find ways to build on the traditions already here while creating new ones moving forward .”
In his first year as principal , Miele ’ s priority is learning about the school . He aims to be as accessible as possible to students , families and teachers by taking an active role throughout the building . “ I want to learn about the needs of the building from a teacher perspective , student perspective , and family perspective ,” Miele said . “ I want to be in the classroom as much as I can . It ’ s super critical for me to be visible in the building .”
Having worked in several districts with strong administrative experience , Miele believes in educating the whole student through academic , social and emotional growth . He is committed to making South Central Elementary a place where students are eager to learn and where parents and teachers feel involved .

“ I have kids of my own , so I want to make decisions that would make this a building I ’ d send my own children to ,” Miele said . “ School should be an exciting place where students want to come , and I want them to have something exciting to share when they get home or off the bus .” anon-Mac CANON-MAC SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS
