Canon-McMillan High School Transitioning to a 1:1 Electronic Device Program for 2022-2023 School Year

Canon-McMillan High School is excited to be transitioning to a 1:1 Electronic Device Program this year ! Each student in grades 9-12 will be assigned a Chromebook . With this initiative , the high school administration hopes to advance the education of students and engage them in additional critical thinking , collaboration and communication activities . Their goal is to build upon the solid education program that CMHS is already known for .

The device and charger will be used in the classroom and at home for educational purposes . Teachers will vary in their expectations for Chromebook use , but students will generally be using this tool for instruction , assignments , projects , research and assessment throughout the day .
The Electronic Device Handbook , which includes the 1:1 Chromebook Loan Agreement and the district-provided Technology Protection Plan , can be found on the district website at cmsd . k12 . pa . us . Families are able to purchase the district-provided Technology Protection Plan with a $ 20 money order made payable to Canon-McMillan School District . No cash or checks will be accepted . The deadline to enroll in the district-provided Technology Protection Plan was September 2 .
Students were assigned dates and times to pick-up their devices by grade level in August . Devices were distributed from the high school library . The Canon-McMillan High School administration looks forward to embarking on this wonderful new opportunity !
