HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT SAFETY !
Attention Ghouls and Boys ! Halloween is right around the corner which means it ’ s time for Trick or Treating ! North Strabane Township Police Department wants to remind you to follow these safety tips for a fun and safe Halloween !
Have an adult check ALL your candy prior to consuming .
Always have a parent / guardian accompany you if you are a minor . Older kids should always remain in a group .
Look left and right before crossing any roadway and utilize sidewalks , if available .
Locate a meeting spot if you get separated from your group . Only go to houses which have their lights on .
Wear a reflective item on your costume , carry a flashlight or festive glow stick to make sure you are visible .
Ensure your costume fits properly to avoid falling . Make sure to walk on sidewalks when they are available .
Eat only factory wrapped candy . Do not consume homemade treats .
Never enter a stranger ’ s house .
Be on the lookout for North Strabane Township Police officers patrolling your neighborhood and be sure to wave and say “ Hello .” Happy Trick or Treating !

The North Strabane Township Police
Department is comprised of 25 police officers . All of our officers are well trained and dedicated to enforcing laws and ordinances of North Strabane Township . The Department ’ s primary mission is to solve and deter crime . In addition to crime prevention , the Department , also focuses on traffic enforcement in order to reduce serious traffic accidents . The Department has acquired digital traffic signs that you will see placed throughout the township .
The police department now has two K9 Units . K9 “ Drago ” has been partnered with Sergeant Mancini for 6 years . K9 “ Ripley ” has recently be added to the department and is partnered with Officer Bliss . Both Drago and Ripley are certified in patrol and narcotics . Be sure to look for them at township events and say hello .
North Strabane Township does have an ordinance restricting on-street parking on any township road . Residents are required to notify the police department should they require permission to park vehicles on the street for a period of time especially overnight .
