They 38 CANON-MAC were recognized for sustaining high fidelity implementation in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 interventions. They have been applauded for this in past years as well. The school was at 100% implementation for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 during the application phase. This achievement was accomplished because every teacher and staff member in the building worked hard and followed through with every aspect of this program. Olivia Bost, Kristy Chavez, and Heather Merry, who are Wylandville teachers on the SWPBIS Core Building Team, attended a special recognition luncheon to accept these awards. So, what is this project? School Wide Positive Behavior Support is a program that all five of the Canon-McMillan elementary schools are involved with. It includes a core team of teachers that are varied in the grade levels and subject matter so that all areas of the school are represented. The core team helps to review building data and plan activities. A consultant from IU1, Amy Dillow, is also involved and helps to review for fidelity and effectiveness.
