Sonnet Honored with Mon Valley Quilt Club Scholarship Samantha Sonnet, a 2018 Canon-McMillan High School graduate, was honored with a scholarship from the Mon Valley Quilt Club earlier this year. Blackburn’s Work to be Displayed at Pitt Art Exhibition Natalie Blackburn Natalie Blackburn, art teacher at Muse Elementary School of the Canon-McMillan School District, will have artwork on display at the University of Pittsburgh’s celebratory 50th Anniversary Alumni Exhibition to be held in the University Art Galleries of the Frick Fine Arts Building from September 14 through October 12. The Department of Studio Arts in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh announced that the exhibition is an opportunity to honor the accomplishments of Studio Arts at Pitt throughout the past 50 years and to build and enhance connections among, alumni, faculty, students, and community members. Blackburn (BA ’06 and MAT ’07) was the 2006 recipient of the Studio Arts Department A.J. Schneider Award. Blackburn’s artwork will be showcased on display among other Pitt alumni pieces.
