Many THANKS for your dedication! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Ken Lockhart, his wife Sue and the “Brentwood Cares” team that dedicated their time over the years to prepare the many “military gift” boxes for our local men and women in the armed forces. It is by the dedication and caring of the Brentwood Cares team that created this outstanding program with such great success. I’ve seen this group of volunteers in action and they are to be commended for their long term effort and energy to our military, past, present and future. As we “Salute” our military and thank them for their service and for our freedom, we say “Hats off to you, “Brentwood Cares Team” for a job well done on taking care of our own! Mary Lou Garase Borough resident and employee With all the hustle and bustle in the air and as we prepare for the Holiday Season, keep in mind the individuals that are less fortunate; consider gathering a few items to donate to the Brentwood Food Pantry. As you prepare your menu for your family gathering, a perfect gesture would be to purchase of a few additional canned goods and/or paper products, a gift card or a monetary donation would be especially appreciated this time of year when the holiday season is approaching. Your donations are deeply appreciated and when you share your good fortune, a good feeling surrounds you. Again, thank you for the many donations throughout the year that keep this program available to those in need. The Brentwood Presbyterian Church operates this successful Food Pantry Program year round for Brentwood residents and families in the area. Happy Holidays to all and a special “thank you” to those that donate and volunteer their time and service! Meals on Wheels: This program is “Special” to the residents of the Borough that are elderly or shut-in due to illness. On a daily basis their meals are delivered by volunteers that take the time to make sure the residents are safe and eat healthy. This program gives the resident a relaxed feeling that they will enjoy a nutritious meal delivered without the fuss and the bother to prepare it. The elderly not only look forward to their meals being delivered, they are anxious to greet the volunteer and thank them for their service. Volunteers are welcome to join this “Special” program. Reminder Christmas Tree Removal After enjoying the Christmas Holidays and you are ready to dispose of your Christmas tree, please place it out for pickup after 5 p.m., within 5’ of the curb on the day prior to your weekly trash pickup. The Borough Public Works Department employees will NOT remove any Christmas trees. For tree removal contact Allied Waste Services at 1.877.788.9400. Thank you for your cooperation!
