IN Brentwood-Baldwin-Whitehall Winter 2017 | Page 74
A MESSAGE FROM
Dr. Randal A. Lutz
Superintendent of Schools, Baldwin-Whitehall School District
Are you excited to celebrate the holiday
season?
From Thanksgiving through New Year’s
Day, our community is filled with reasons
to celebrate, such as family, friends, faith,
food, and the fresh start of a new year.
But as much fun as these holidays can be,
there’s one other word that also comes to
mind: frantic. As we all know, juggling so
many holiday obligations and expectations
can sometimes make it hard to remember
what we’re celebrating in the first place.
Dear Members of the District
Community,
72 Brentwood-Baldwin-Whitehall
This is why I like to think of Thanksgiving
as a time for pause.
Yes, Thanksgiving is a chance to
reconnect with our loved ones (and
eat wonderful meals). But it’s also an
opportunity for each of us to unplug, relax,
and reflect on everything we’re grateful
for in our lives. By being mindful in the
moment and appreciating what truly
matters, we can train ourselves to make
better choices about how we spend our
time and energy.
This same spirit of mindfulness guides
our choices within the Baldwin-Whitehall
School District. By focusing on what really
matters for our students, we help ensure
that every BWSD teacher and employee
has a clear vision of what it takes to
achieve our shared goal of individual
student success.
I hope you’ll enjoy the opportunity to
read about proof of our focus in action,
as these pages are full of innovation and
achievement.
Thank you for being a member of our
District community. As you know, I often
refer to learning as a lifelong journey, and
I’m deeply grateful to everyone in Baldwin-
Whitehall whose actions, lessons, and
contributions make this essential journey
possible for our students.
From my family to yours, happy holidays
and best wishes for the new year ahead.
Sincerely,
Dr. Randal A. Lutz,
Superintendent of Schools
Baldwin-Whitehall School District
