Borough 2017 Road Improvements
Council awarded approximately $1.2 Million for paving Borough
Roadways this year. The project will have approximately 80% of those
roads completed by mid-November. The remaining two roadways
(Keeport and Youngridge Drives) will be delayed until Spring 2018 due to
the rain days encountered over the summer.
McAnnulty Bridge Replacement
The replacement of the McAnnulty Bridge was completed in early October. The removal of the
existing metal arch structure and walls and replacement with a wider concrete box culvert was
completed in just under 40 days by Gary Metzinger Cement Contractor, Inc. allowing the roadway
to be re-opened to all traffic. The old structure had developed a hole in the traffic carrying portion
which necessitated replacement.
Community Pool
Phase 2 of the pool remodel is nearly completed. The Borough is only
waiting on the delivery of the shade structures. All work however will be
completed well in advance of the 2018 Memorial Day weekend opening!
Elm
Leaf Park
–Phase I
The Borough is in the
middle of a major renovation
to Elm Leaf Park. Phase I of the
project will be 95% completed by
the end of November with minor
landscaping and final paving to
occur in early April of 2018. The
new Park will be opened to the
Public in late April 2018!
