Encompassing realism, impressionism, post-impressionism, symbolism, Fauvism, cubism, and surrealism, French Moderns: Matisse / Renoir / Degas exemplifies the avantgarde movements that defined modern art in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and that continue to awe art-goers today. In this outreach, see and hear about the paintings, drawings and sculptures created by the era’ s leading artists born in France, as well as those who studied and exhibited there. Bankers Life Educational Social Hour Join Bankers Life for a casual, non-traditional social hour all about retirement and longterm care planning!

Join us for a star-spangled outdoor celebration at the library! Enjoy games, creative crafts, stories, and exciting activities for all ages as we celebrate America’ s 250th anniversary. Hot dogs and ice cream will be available for participants. Bring the whole family for an evening of fun.
June 29- Creek Creatures with BBW Shade Tree Commission and Tree Pittsburgh
Are there connections between trees and clean water? Why is clean water important? What critters can be found in our creeks and what can they tell us about the water? Join us in our quest to find life, including the tiniest animals, in Streets Run, right beside the library. We’ ll have nets and all necessary sampling gear. Dress for weather, and wear rubber boots that keep feet dry. Park in the back lot behind the pool and meet at the tennis court.
July 6- Create Your Own Time Capsule
Children will create their own time capsules by filling them with drawings, and special keepsakes that tell their own story. Families are encouraged to bring small items or photos from home, and the library will provide boxes and supplies to create a time capsule.
July 13- Adopt a Pet Rock Storytime
Join us for a rock-solid storytime filled with silly stories and creative fun! Kids will choose a rock companion and transform it into a one-of-a-kind pet using art supplies and imagination!
July 20- Dinosaur Garden
Join us for dino-stories and hands-on fun as children create their own mini gardens complete with dinosaur decorations! Enjoy stories, songs, and a creative activity that brings the prehistoric world to life. Perfect for little explorers with big imaginations!
July 27- Build a Better Bubble Get ready to pop into creativity! Use 3D pens to design your own bubble wand and then experiment with different bubble recipes to see which makes the best bubble! hitehall
