As we welcome the summer season here in Baldwin Borough, I want to take a moment to highlight the many opportunities and responsibilities that come with this time of year.
Summer is one of the most active seasons in our community. Our parks, playgrounds, pool and Great Allegheny Passage( GAP) Trail are open and ready for residents to enjoy. I encourage everyone to take advantage of the outdoor amenities Baldwin Borough has, participate in the many local events planned for this summer as noted on the following pages, and support all the small businesses throughout the Borough.
With increased activity also comes a shared responsibility to keep our community safe and well-maintained. Please be mindful of parking regulations, property maintenance, and noise levels, especially during evening hours. Our Public Works Department is actively working on road maintenance activities including pothole hot mix patching and roadside vegetation maintenance, infrastructure improvements such as catch basin repairs, and we appreciate your patience during any temporary disruptions.
This is also a reminder that summer brings seasonal services such as construction activity by not only the Borough but utility companies as well as State( PennDOT) and County projects throughout our Municipality. Be sure to check the Borough website and social media for schedules, updates, and important announcements.
Public safety remains a top priority. Please use caution when traveling through the construction zones, watch for pedestrians and cyclists, and remember that children are out of school and playing throughout our neighborhoods. Staying alert helps keep everyone safe.
Finally, I encourage residents to stay engaged. Visit our wonderful Library, volunteer for local events, and check in on your elderly neighbors. Strong communities are built through participation, cooperation and caring.
On behalf of the Borough staff and Council, I wish you a safe, enjoyable, and vibrant summer season.
Sincerely,
Robert Firek, P. E. Borough Manager
