CITY BRIEFLY OF MCKEESPORT BRENTWOOD NEWS
As the flowers bloom and the days grow longer, there’ s an unmistakable energy in the air— Brentwood is ready for another vibrant season of progress, celebration, and community connection!
Investing in Our Infrastructure
This spring, you’ ll see plenty of activity across the Borough as we continue to make long-term investments in our roads, parks, and public facilities. Thanks to careful planning and successful grant applications, the 2025 construction season will feature improvements to several ADA ramps, muchneeded stormwater upgrades, and continued progress on our Sidewalk Rehabilitation Cost Sharing Program. Our 2024 Roadway Paving Program is back on track and is also rolling forward, with multiple streets scheduled for resurfacing this spring.
Brentwood Park Gets Even Better
We’ re keeping our commitment to enhancing Brentwood Park! This year, the Borough is advancing plans for major improvements to Ballfield No. 4— including ADA accessibility, a new backstop, additional parking, and more. Our popular basketball court got a facelift last year, and we’ re not done yet. Stay tuned for updates as we work to make our park more inclusive and enjoyable for all residents.

New Trail, New Possibilities Exciting news for nature lovers and walking enthusiasts— Brentwood is in the planning phase of a new walking trail in the Hollow. This scenic, wooded area behind Brentwood Park is an underutilized gem, and the new trail aims to provide residents with a peaceful, natural place to walk, jog, or simply unwind. Design work is underway, and the Borough will be pursuing grant funding to bring this vision to life.
Welcoming New Faces & New Roles
This spring marks the exciting debut of our first-ever Community and Economic Development Director, Melissa Lenigan, part of Brentwood’ s broader effort to grow our business community and revitalize our Main Street. We’ ve also welcomed a new Community Relations and Compliance Specialist, Devon Serena, who is already making strides in code enforcement and resident outreach and a HUGE increase in our social media presence. It’ s all about keeping everyone informed.
Let’ s Take It to the Streets!
Back by popular demand, our“ Taking It To The Streets” community pop-up events will return this summer! These casual neighborhood gatherings are a great way to meet Borough officials, learn about upcoming projects, and enjoy some light refreshments and friendly conversation— because local government should be accessible, transparent, and fun.
