NG GROUND...AGAIN!
Senator Jim Brewster congratulates the
Borough during groundbreaking ceremony.
Mayor Troy welcomes everyone to the
historic groundbreaking for the new
Municipal Complex.
Representative Harry Readshaw stated
that Brentwood has so much development
going on. Council President, Harold Smith, stated that
this is just one of many other development
projects that the Borough is working towards.
The approximate $4.5 million project
was awarded to Mucci Construction, Inc.
and will consist of a one-story 10,000 sf
facility that will be state of the art and
energy efficient. The existing Borough
Building is over 30,000 sf and much
larger than what the Borough requires.
“Operating costs will be reduced considerably in the new facility”, stated
Council Vice President John Frombach
who was also the Chair of the Borough
Building Committee. “John was the
catalyst to finally move this project from
the planning phase to the construction
phase!”, stated Mayor Dennis Troy
during remarks at the ground breaking

ceremony. The New Municipal Complex
will include a Council/Community
Room with wireless audio and visual
systems that will provide the Borough an
opportunity to “Live Stream” their Council
meetings. “We live in a time when
everyone is busy in the evenings and may
not be able to attend a Council meeting
but would still like to know what is going
on. This will enable them to review
Council meetings either live, or recorded,
from the comforts of their home”, stated
Brentwood Borough Manager George
Zboyovsky, PE who continued by saying
he is more excited about having a facility
that has a heating and cooling system
as well as a place where one does not
have to worry about the ceiling falling
down on them while they work. Other
design features include an “Open Office”
concept, employee safety features
including more video surveillance as
keyless entry doors. The construction
is scheduled to be completed in July
2020 with a ribbon cutting and open
house. “This groundbreaking was a
significant milestone for Brentwood, the
culmination of several years of planning
and debate; but this isn’t the end in fact,
we’re just getting started!” Councilman
AJ Doyle.
