The Art of
Dentures
The denture… Although
at times this professionally
fabricated dental prosthesis
is all but necessary,
must it be so glaringly
“professionally fabricated”?
Those lifeless, artificially
white teeth, the way they all
align so unnaturally straight,
and don’t get me started on
those hideously fake pink
“gums.” But dentures don’t
have to appear as if they just
came off a conveyer belt. All
these smiles on this page
are dentures from our office
in conjunction with our
world-renowned cosmetic
lab technician.
A denture is a replacement for your smile. It needs to exude life and
emotion. It needs to fit within the frame of your facial characteristics
and complement your personality. I want to make you feel confident
and more like yourself – unabashedly smiling instead of worrying
if people notice your false teeth, or, worse, having them fall out at
dinner. “Can you pass the salt and my denture, please?” Yikes.
So at this point you may be asking, “What’s this guy doing
that’s different?” Well, quite a bit. It all starts with your initial smile
evaluation. We discuss what’s important to you, what you want to
accomplish, and what you envision as the perfect outcome. Ultimately
we can use some denture magic to do many things, but if you’re not
happy then I would have wasted both our time. We look at your facial
proportions, your current dental and gum health, and, depending on
your goals, whether implants would be a viable option.
During the proceeding appointments, together we will take special
measures to craft the perfect smile that you deserve. The teeth will be
hand-selected and carefully placed to match your facial features and
personal preferences. We can give you the Hollywood smile, or match
your natural teeth. Either way, before our decision is made, you will be
able to test-drive your new smile before we finish. We want to make
sure you’re completely happy with how the teeth feel and look before
we finalize anything. When finished, we will have an artistically crafted,
stunning smile.
Through advanced training
courses and a uniquely acquired
skill set, I take pride in fabricating
gorgeous dentures with function
as good as they look. I will take
specific records and measurements
in order to test the dentures on a
chewing simulator before they’re
completed. By taking these extra
steps, we minimize the need for
adjustments and headaches in the
future.
Don’t settle. Your smile, like you,
should be unique. You’ll be wearing
this smile for a long time – invest in
yourself and make sure it’s done right. Visit our website at
www.PGHdentist.com or call 412.884.7757 to schedule a
complimentary denture consult. I’m looking forward to meeting you
and helping you rediscover your smile.
