At R. A. Lutz Elementary School, students enjoyed creating“ tornadoes” by swirling water inside a clear bottle, forming a visible vortex similar to a real tornado. This handson experiment helps explain basic concepts like motion, gravity, and air pressure in a concrete, visual way that many learners find fun and engaging. aldwin-Whitehall BALDWIN-WHITEHALL SCHOOL DISTRICT NEWS

WHO’ S AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD WOLF?
Students at McAnnulty Elementary School turned The Three Little Pigs story into an applied engineering challenge. After reading the story, students worked in small teams to choose materials, experiment with techniques for stable construction, and use collaboration and problem solving to adjust designs as they built, while a hairdryer simulated the Big Bad Wolf’ s huffing and puffing at each house. The activity promoted engineering thinking, iterative design, and teamwork while giving students a memorable lesson about structure and force.
