BRENTWOOD DPW NEWS
Spring is finally here , and boy are we glad to see it ! Hopefully that means an end to our winter wonderland for the year , and we can look forward to balmy spring and summer days . You ’ ll be seeing Public Works taking care of the park and hanging up military banners for Memorial Day , among other things . Our sweeper will be out and about , and after sweeping the roads we will be cleaning out our storm inlets as required by our MS4 Permit . May flowers don ’ t come without April showers , after all , and that stormwater has to go somewhere !
Make sure to park your vehicles in your driveway whenever possible . The Borough ’ s MS4 permit requires us to sweep the roadways to reduce the sediments and chemicals that can get into our waterways , rivers , and creeks . Help us keep debris off the road and out of our water systems by keeping your car in your driveway whenever you can .
To comply with the Department of Environment Protection and receive credit for all the recycling that we and our
residents do , the Borough has three blue dumpster bins for yard waste located at the Public Works building at 4583 East Willock Road , where residents can bring yard waste for disposal from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM . Any resident can bring their yard waste down to the Public Works building and put it into the designated dumpsters . Yard waste consists of grass clippings , leaf waste , tree branches ( under 4 ” diameter ), and any type of vegetation . If you decide to use the bins , please make sure to bring identification with you showing proof of residence , as this is not a service for contractors to use to dump a load of items off ! Please also do not use the bins as a method for disposing of concrete , treated wood , or garbage . County Hauling , our new waste hauler , will take your garbage , but we ’ ll take the vegetation !
Thank you , Justin Kobelak , DPW Superintendent
