Th e Latest Dry AMD
Research:
AIO has been selected as a
site for the Ophthotech OPH2003 clinical trial, which is investigating
a new medication called ZIMURA for the treatment of dry age-
related macular degeneration. It is believed that ZIMURA interrupts
the degenerative disease process that causes central vision loss in
DARMD (Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration). ZIMURA is given as
an injection into the eye. Patients selected for the clinical trial will be
examined monthly for 18 months.
The objectives of this study are to evaluate the safety and eff ectiveness
of ZIMURA when administered in research participants with DARMD.
The study will involve approximately 200 men and women over the age
