‘ DROP THE PUCK ON CANCER’ CELEBRATES SEVENTH YEAR
A local organization heads into its seventh year helping members of the Brentwood community who are dealing with cancer. Drop the Puck on Cancer began in 2012, with members of Brentwood alumni spanning several years joining together to help raise money for two families who lost members to cancer.
A deck hockey tournament, Chinese auction and bake sale were thrown together in a matter of weeks and raised upwards of $ 45,000 for the two families.
Seven years later, the event is still going strong, each year helping Brentwood families affected by cancer. For one day, an entire community joins together to do good. Each year the same activities are held and visitors come from near and far to eat, play games and enter for a chance to win prize baskets.
This year’ s event will be held April 14 in the Brentwood Park, located at 2501 Brownsville Road, in the heart of Brentwood.
