Not even the rain could put a damper on the smiles inside Brentwood Borough Building the morning of May 30th, where Council Chambers was briefly transformed into the most charming little wedding venue in town.
With a beaming bride, a glowing groom, and two twirling flower girls stealing the show, Kristy and Jason Greer said“ I do” in front of family, friends, and a very proud Mayor Pat Carnevale— who, fun fact, was only officiating his second-ever wedding!
The Greers are relatively new to Brentwood, having moved in just before last summer’ s 4th of July parade( which they now consider a major perk of residency).
“ We fell in love with Brentwood,” Kristy said with a grin.
“ And the parade,” added Jason.“ The kids enjoy it.”
Speaking of kids— Jaelyn, eight, and Adalyn, a proud six and a half, were positively giddy. Decked out in wedding day sparkle, they twirled and danced around Council Chambers like it was their own personal stage.
“ It was a surprise!” Adalyn announced, eyes wide.“ We got out of school before it even started!”
The happy couple first met nearly five years ago thanks to some matchmaking magic from mutual friends. When it came time to tie the knot, they figured— why not keep it simple and sweet? Council Chambers is, after all, just a hop, skip, and a bouquet toss from their house.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with brunch— and even more surprises in store for the girls( though mum’ s the word on exactly what).
From all of us here in Brentwood: cheers to the newlyweds! May your love be as joyful as a lifetime of parades.
