FALL EVENTS FOR CHILDREN AT BRENTWOOD LIBRARY :
Regular Programs for Children : Most of these programs occur on a weekly basis . Please check our calendar to see specific dates . Musical Monday and Toddler Tales are also recorded and posted to our YouTube channel , so if you miss a week , no problem ! You can watch it later at your convenience .
0-5 years – Mondays @ 11:00 AM — Musical Monday : A festive time of singing , doing motions , playing instruments , and dancing . Ages 0-18 months – Thursdays @ 10:00 AM — Book Babies : A sweet story time with rhymes , songs , books , and more ! Ages 18 months-3 years — Thursdays @ 11:00 AM — Toddler Tales : An interactive , action packed program where we read books , sing songs , and do action rhymes . Ages 3-5 years – Tuesdays @ 10:45 AM — Let ’ s Learn : This program is designed to develop early literacy skills such as vocabulary , print awareness , letter knowledge , and phonological awareness ( letter sounds and rhymes ), and it also helps with school readiness and independence . All Ages Family Storytime , 3rd Monday of each month @ 6:30 PM : A fun story time for kids and caregivers of all ages ! Take & Makes Help yourself to one of our craft kits , or get creative here at the library . New projects introduced monthly . Grades K-5 – Tuesdays @ 3:30 pm – Elementary School Fun : Join us after school for some fun activities , including building , gaming , STEAM , and more ! Check the Event Calendar for more details .

Regular Virtual Programming for Teens : Ages 13-18 : Teen Programming on Discord , Tuesdays & Wednesdays @ 7:00 PM : Meets weekly for 1-2 hours on our interlibrary Teen Gaming and D & D Discord servers . Online gaming , Dungeons and Dragons , art and writing , anime and manga nights , and more ! Please contact us for more information .

REGULAR PROGRAMMING FOR ADULTS : Community Outreach w / Senator Brewster , 2nd Monday of the month @ 10:00-2:00 PM : Alison from Sen . Brewster ’ s office will be on hand to discuss a wide variety of state issues with constituents .
Monday Movies , Mondays @ 2:00 PM : Have a snack and watch new releases with friends . Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange , 1st Monday of the month @ 7:00 PM : A lively , engaging poetry collaboration and workshop . Indoor Walking , Tuesdays @ 9:00 AM : DVD workout of low impact walking-in-place exercises . Sit and Fit , Tuesdays @ 9:40 AM : DVD workout of guided chair exercises . Yoga Flow , Tuesdays @ 7:00 PM : Yoga for beginners . A small donation of $ 5 is requested for the instructor . Bring a mat and water . Walk for a Cause , Thursdays @ 9:30 : Walk with us to raise money for Special Olympics of Allegheny County . Start at the library and do a 2-mile loop to Wainwright and back . For every 20 miles the group walks collectively , the library will donate $ 5.00 . Also , donors can sponsor walkers . The program runs through November , so there ’ s potential for 58 miles of walking per person . Game Day , 2nd Thursday of the month @ 12:00 PM : Brain games and social interaction in a party-like atmosphere . Bingo , 3rd Thursday of the month @ 2:00 PM : Come play for free ! A light snack and drinks will be offered . Steeler Sundays : Watch Steeler games on our big screen TV during the season when games start at 1:00 PM on Sundays .
BOOK CLUBS FOR ADULTS : NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME ! IF YOU ’ RE INTERESTED , CALL 412-882-5694 . Cook ’ s Book Club , 3rd Tuesday of each month @ 6:30 PM : Attendees prepare and share dishes based on that month ’ s theme . Mystery Book Club , 1st Tuesday every other month @ 1:00 PM : Mystery / thriller book club . Solve the case if you can ! A NOVEL BOOK CLUB , 2ND MONDAY EVERY OTHER MONTH @ 6:30 PM : Fiction book club with interesting reads .

Don ’ t Forget to Check Out Our Experience Kits ! Thanks to our partnership with the Heinz Center Affiliates Program and other Allegheny County libraries , we are offering FREE ADMISSION for up to four people to a number of museums and historical sites around Pittsburgh ! Plus , each kit comes with access to educational information , itinerary ideas , and other fun content . Our kits this year include :
• Heinz History Center ( includes complimentary admission to Fort Pitt Museum and Meadowcroft !)
• Railroaders Museum & Horseshoe Curve
• Fort Ligonier
• Historic Fort Steuben
• Old Economy Village
• Bradford House & Whiskey Rebellion Center
Experience kits are checked-out for one week at a time ( Tuesday through Monday ). Each kit can be reserved for the exact week you need it - reservations are first come , first served . Due to fluctuating circumstances , we recommend checking the site ’ s operating hours prior to reserving the kit .
