SPECIAL EVENTS THIS FALL AT BRENTWOOD LIBRARY :

FOR ADULTS AARP Senior Driving Courses — A two-day full course will be offered . Cost is $ 20 for AARP members , and $ 25 for non-members . Pay to reserve your spot by stopping by or by calling us at 412-882-5694 . All courses are 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM . Full Course Dates : Tuesday , October 3rd & Wednesday , October 4th Refresher Date : Wednesday , October 18th 9 am – 1 pm

Mardi Gras Murder Mystery – Thursday , August 3rd @ 7 pm : There ’ s a murder during Mardi Gras , and we need YOU to help solve the crime ! Some attendees will be assigned characters , while others will observe and guess the true identity of the murderer . When registering , please indicate if you are willing to play a role . Light snacks will be served as you have fun figuring out “ whodunnit ”.

Adult Crafting – Thursday , August 10th @ 1:30 pm : Learn Diamond Art taught by our wonderful volunteers . Registration is required and all supplies are provided .

Dress for Success – Tuesday , August 29th @ 12 pm : Brentwood Library is proud to collaborate with Dress for Success Pittsburgh to host a FREE event to provide you with clothing and employment readiness support . Stop by between 12 – 2 pm to shop and get help putting a professional outfit together that is yours to keep for FREE . Dress for Success believes it ’ s all about clothing , connections , and confidence . Registration is not required .

Fall Foliage Hike in South Park – Monday , October 30th : Join the Park Rangers for a walk on the trail to see the beautiful fall colors and learn about seasonal change . * This is a fall seasonal program .

Adult Trivia Night – Saturday , December 16th @ 6:30 PM : Form a team , and come in and test your knowledge on a variety of topics . Snacks provided , as well as a prize for the winning team members . Please register for this event .

FOR KIDS Brentwood Borough Pumpkin Patch in the Park — Sunday , October 15 @ 12:00 PM : Come see us at our table during this wonderful annual borough event ! We ’ ll have a game , a craft , and books to give away for little ones . Have some fun in the crisp fall air ! Beaver Habitat – Thursday , November 2nd @ 6:30 pm Learn about beavers and how they affect their environment . Beavers are

second only to humans when it comes to changing the landscape they live in . Learn about their habitat , how they build dams and lodges , and what positive and negative impacts they can have . If in the park , participants can look for evidence of beavers . Participants can also create their own “ beaver dam ” and see if theirs holds back water as well as a beaver ’ s can .

FOR TEENS Hallow-TEEN Party — Friday , October 27th @ 3:00 PM : Spooks and scares are in the air at this great teen event celebrating the spooky season ! Come join us for games , crafts , food , and some other SPOOK-tacular activities .

All regular fall programming will begin on Tuesday , September 5th , and will continue through the season .
