Recycling in Baldwin According to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, over 1,700 Pennsylvania communities recycle to support a healthy environment Ordinance #619: All Borough residents are required to recycle. Recycling is picked up once every other week by Waste Management. At the beginning of the recycling service, each home was given a blue recycling container. If your property no longer has a blue can, please put your recycling in a container marked as recycling. The Borough has recycling stickers that you can use to mark containers that can be picked up at the Borough office. Recycling cannot be in plastic bags, but you do not need to sort your recycling because of single stream recycling. If you are an apartment resident and are not offered recycling, please contact the Borough. The following items are accepted materials: • Aerosol can - if punctured and emptied • Aluminum Cans • Cardboard • Chip Board (ex: cereal boxes) • Glass - clear, green, brown • Junk Mail • Plastic #2: HDPE colored or natural (laundry detergent bottles) • Soft plastics, narrow neck bottles • Tin Cans Special Waste Collection BAL DWI N BO ROU G H N E WS aldwin • Magazines • Newspapers • Office Paper • Plastic #1: PET #1 containers that are clear (ex: water bottles, dish detergent bottles) If you have materials to dispose of that are not allowed in regular weekly trash collection, such as TVs, electronics, commercial chemicals, light bulbs, batteries, and household cleaners, Waste Management will pick them up free of charge if you set-up a collection appointment with “At Your Door Special Collection” by calling 800-449-7587.
