Bethel Park Recreation Holiday Happenings All happenings will take place at the Bethel Park Community Center 5151 Park Avenue Call 412.851.2910 for additional information HOLIDAY WORKSHOP TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY The Municipality of Bethel Park will kick off the 2019 Holiday Season on Tuesday, December 3 with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Festivities begin at 6:45pm at the Bethel Park Community Center, 5151 Park Avenue. Musical entertainment, refreshments, and a children’s craft will all be provided. All entries from the Gingerbread House contest will be on display. A visit from Santa Claus is also expected! Bethel Park Recreation is offering a FUN holiday workshop for boys and girls in grades K through 4 at the Community Center. Come join us for holiday crafts, games, movies and snacks. You must register by Wednesday, Dec. 11 for this workshop. PARENTS: This provides a great chance for you to get some last minute shopping done without the kids! Saturday, Dec. 14 1:00pm – 4:00pm Fee: $15 FAMILY LASER LIGHT DANCE PARTY!!! Think all the holiday excitement is over? Think again! Continue the holiday season fun with a laser light, glow in the dark dance party for all ages! This high energy event features great music, professional laser lights and lots of glowing fun! Saturday, Dec. 28 @ Bethel Park Community Center Time: 6:30pm – 8:30pm (Perfect for families with children under 12) 9:00pm – 11:15pm (Open for all ages) Admission: $7 / person in advance - by noon 12/28 $10/ person at door if still available FAMILY OR GROUP ADVANCE DISCOUNT Buy 3 tickets @ $7 and get 4th ticket free! Any additional tickets @ $5 per person 6:30pm – 8:30pm PAJAMA DANCE PARTY – Designed for younger dancers (up to 12 yrs old) and families. Come dressed in your favorite PJs and dance the night away. 9:00pm – 11:15pm ’80s/’90s DANCE PARTY – Dress the part in your favorite ’80s or ’90s fashions to dance and groove. Show off your best Moonwalk, Macarena, Cabbage Patch, Sprinkler and The Carleton moves!! Neon face and hair painting will be available. Put your name in laser lights for a small fee. A proven favorite event for any age. FOURTH ANNUAL GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST Calling all Gingerbread enthusiasts! Individuals, Families, and Groups are all welcome to make and submit their “masterpiece”. All entries will be on display at the Community Center in time for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, creating a beautiful holiday display. Judges from the community will select winners just prior to the ceremony. Display space is limited so please register no later than Nov. 25 to reserve a spot for your creation. Registration forms are available at the Community Center. All Gingerbread houses must be delivered to the Community Center on Monday, Dec. 2. Call 412.851.2910 for more info.
