THIRD ANNUAL GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST
TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
The Municipality of Bethel Park will kick off the 2018
Holiday Season on Tuesday, November 27 with its
annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Festivities begin
at 6:45pm at the Bethel Park Community Center,
5151 Park Avenue. Musical entertainment,
refreshments, children’s craft will all be
provided. All entries from the Gingerbread
House contest will be on display. A visit from
Santa Claus is also expected!
HOLIDAY WORKSHOP
Bethel Park Recreation is offering a FUN holiday workshop for boys
and girls in grades K through 4 at the Community Center. Come join
us for holiday crafts, games, movies and snacks. You must register by
Wednesday, November 28 for this workshop. PARENTS: This provides
a great chance for you to get some last minute shopping done without
the kids!
Saturday, December 1, 1-4 pm
Fee: $15
Calling all Gingerbread enthusiasts! Individuals, Families, and Groups
are all welcome to make and submit their “masterpiece”. All entries
will be on display at the Community Center in time for the annual Tree
Lighting Ceremony, creating a beautiful holiday display. Judges from
the community will select winners just prior to the ceremony.
Display space is
limited so please
register no later
than November 19
to reserve a spot
for your creation.
Registration forms
are available at the
Community Center.
All Gingerbread
houses must be
delivered to the
Community Center on
Monday or Tuesday,
November 26 & 27.

Complete swimming info can be found in the winter issue of Chronicles available the
week of December 10.
Registration for classes begins the week of 12/10.
Both Group and Private lessons are offered at Bethel Park High School indoor pool.
GROUP LESSONS Ages 6mo. and up
45 minute lessons, Saturdays for 6 total lessons

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS
30 minute lessons, with individual instruction tailored to your needs. Instructors will be
in the water while you learn at your own pace, whether it is learning basic water skills or
to advance skills to the next level.
Youth 5 years and up
Saturday, 30 minutes morning & afternoon times available
Adult 18 and over
Saturday 30 minutes, morning & afternoon times available
Register at Recreation Office located in the Bethel Park Community Center to schedule specific class time.

Children 5-7 years old who have never had formal lesson MUST be
skill tested at pool on Janurary 19. They will be enrolled in class at
their ability level after skill test.
