WE ARE HIRING SWIM INSTRUCTORS !
The Bethel Park Swim Lessons Program is looking to hire more swim instructors to help our growing program . The only requirement needed is the desire to work with and inspire the youth in our community . This is a great opportunity for anyone 15 and older who is looking to get experience working with children . While we encourage strong swimmers to apply , it is not needed as long as you are comfortable in the water . We will teach you everything you need to know to be the best instructor you can be ! AQUACISE
Any adult ( 21 years of age and over ) is welcome to come . You do not have to be able to swim to participate . Classes feature water exercises . Aquacise is held throughout the year on Monday and Wednesday evenings at Pathfinder School Pool .

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS-WEEKDAY
Private lessons on Monday / Wednesday nights from 7:30 to 8:30 p . m . during open community swim hours . These weekday private lessons are great for anyone looking to improve enough to get onto the Bethel Park Recreation Swim Team , or older adults looking to learn how to swim . PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS - SATURDAY
One-on-one swim lessons ! An instructor will give your child individual swim lessons tailored to what your child needs . Our experienced and patient instructors will be in the water with your child while he or she learns at their own pace , whether it is getting accustomed to the water for the first time , learning basic water skills , or getting enough individual help to advance to the next level . These ½ hour private lessons will be scheduled during swim lessons .

GUPPIES
Beginner group ( 45 Minutes )
Safety is key ! This group is based on the very basic fundamentals and teaching water safety . Children will learn how to ask for permission before getting into the water , learn how to enter the water safely , jump into the water safely and exit the water safely .
Guppies also focuses on teaching how to be comfortable in the water by learning front and back glides , rolling to and holding a float independently .
To move out of the group swimmers must master the following .
• Independent jump from the wall
• Safe entry and safe exit from the water
• Independent front glide
• Independent back glide
• Front float & back float
• Without assistance front glide , roll to a back float , roll to front float ( Swim - Float - Swim )
Upon mastery , the swimmers will receive a certificate of completion which will be used in the registration process of the next group .

TADPOLES
Stage 1 ( 45 Minutes )
Building off the skills learned in Guppies , children are going to begin learning two of the four competitive strokes , freestyle , and backstroke while also learning the beginning techniques for butterfly and breaststroke .
To move out of the group swimmers must master the following :
• Legal Dolphin Kick by USA Swimming Standards
• Legal Breaststroke Kick by USA Swimming Standards
• Unassisted Front Glide with dolphin kick
• Unassisted Back Glide with dolphin kick
• Unassisted Front Glide with dolphin kick to Freestyle - Roll to Back Float -
