Realty One’s Irene
Richmond
When Trust in Your
Realtor Matters
H
elping buyers and sellers get through
the emotional and financial highs and
lows of home sales isn’t easy. That’s why,
when it comes to finding the right Realtor
to represent you, you need someone who you can
trust immediately. Realty One’s Irene Richmond said
building that trust in the short period of time she
works with clients is one of her specialties.
“When you’re working with a buyer or a seller, your average
length of time spent with them is around three-six months,” she
said. “I only know my clients for a short amount of time, but I
have to become one of the most trusted people they know in
that time, because we’re dealing with the largest purchase or
sale they’re making in their lives. My reward is that I get to see
how life happens for them after our time together is done. I see
all the good and the not so good. But that’s life. And, I celebrate
each moment with them because of the bond we build in that
small window of time.”
Born into a construction family, Richmond holds degrees in
Elementary Education and Counseling. When she moved to
Pittsburgh over a decade ago, her construction roots started
calling to her and she decided to pursue real estate. She signed
on with Realty One when it came to town more than a year ago,
because she said the company represented the future of real
estate agencies in the region.
“Realty One Group Gold Standard is to brokerages what
Amazon is to the internet. They’re forward moving and thinking,
interactive and proactive, and changing the way things are done
in real estate,” she said. “In this business, every client is different
and Realty One gives me the latitude and independence to use
my judgement to best meet the needs of my individual clients.
Plus, there’s so much support and detail paid to technology, it
really is a great place to be, when putting your clients’ interests
first.”
As a longtime resident of the South Hills, Richmond considers
her home turf to be her area of expertise when it comes to the
market. But she has no reservations about crossing a bridge or
two or all 446 of them for her clients, and has helped them buy
and sell homes everywhere in the region.
She’s also an advocate of continuing education both for
herself and her clients. She’s not only in the process of getting
her Broker’s license, she’s also teaming up with Michelle Gaudino
and Leslie Zovko, Loan Officers from PNC Bank to offer a series
of free, 1-hour seminars to help prospective homebuyers and
sellers learn what they need to do before starting out on their
real estate journey.
“A misconception people have about buying or selling homes
is that they think we will push them to act immediately. That’s
simply not the case,” she said. “We work with consumers at
their own pace. We’ll give them the tools and information on
the pre-approval process, on what they need to do to prepare
themselves to buy or to prepare their homes to sell, and the
steps necessary to establish a game plan that works for them.
There will also be a question-and-answer portion of the seminar
to address their individual concerns. Hopefully, once they have
some insight to the process, they’ll find it’s not such a scary or
daunting thing.”
