Thaifex in Bangkok
THE Australian almond industry proudly exhibited at the 2024 Thaifex-Anuga Fine Food Fair in Bangkok . This exhibition ran from 28 May to 1 June . We have met with customers and potentially new customers from not just Thailand , but from numerous markets in the region including Malaysia , Indonesia , China and India . One feature of this year ’ s Australian Almonds Thaifex exhibition is a cooking demonstration by a Chef at our stand . As always , product sampling is warmly received . A special addition to our 2024 Australian Almonds Thaifex program was being one of the sponsors of the Thaifex Chefs Challenge . The specific program we supported was the ‘ Asian Curry Challenge ’. Over the five days of Thaifex , 30 Senior and 30 Junior Chefs creating their version of an Asian Curry with almonds as a key ingredient . The participants were briefed to use almonds in the curry paste and not just as a garnish on the top of the dish . Our participation in the Thaifex Chefs Challenge opened the door to meet with the Heads of the Thailand , Malaysian and Indonesian Culinary Associations .

Domestic marketing during National Heart Week
ON May 9 , 2024 , during National Heart Week , a health-focused activation took place at Melbourne ’ s Flinders Street Station , where 3,000 almond snack tins were distributed from a branded cart . The event aimed to raise awareness about the health benefits of almonds , encourage daily consumption among commuters , and promote sustainable snacking with reusable containers . The campaign successfully resonated with the public , emphasising the health benefits of a daily handful of almonds and promoting the use of reusable heart tins for convenient , ecofriendly snacking .
A REVAMPED export site was launched to enhance user experience , with a particular emphasis on mobile optimisation . An export-specific site for China was also launched to include relevant information specific to this market . Translation was made to ensure users understand the information . Landing pages for Saudi and Turkiye were also commissioned to allow for B2B advertising , communicating the positive trading relationships between Australia and Turkiye . This approach provides a method to track traffic effectively , enabling our marketers to gather crucial information from potential customers . Additionally , there are plans to launch dedicated sites for South-East Asia and India , offering targeted information tailored to each market .
