Export market development update
DURING the last quarter , the Australian almond industry exhibited at two important fine food fairs : Food and Hotel Malaysia and Anuga , Cologne . The Food and Hotel Malaysia Exhibition ran from 19 to 22 September at the Kuala Lumpur ( KL ) Convention Center The Australian almonds exhibition was assisted by a KL-based promotions agency , All About Fresh
Produce , who have undertaken similar work for other Australian hort industries . Our Food and Hotel Malaysia stand featured a cooking display and almond sampling . Our FHM trade mission also included a sponsorship of the exhibition ’ s Pastry Innovations program as well as sponsorship of the Austrade expo Networking Event . The red heart snack tins remain
as popular as ever and are a very effective promotional tool . The Fine Food exhibitions in Southeast Asia are an effective method of educating food industry professionals in these markets . The next step will be to pilot a minikitchen on the stand and prepare sample almond-focused dishes to communicate the versatility of almonds in popular local recipes .
