Industry has ' bright future ' - Minister

THE 2022 Australian Almond Conference was officially open by South Australian Minister for Primary Industries Clare Scriven . Ms Scriven said South Australia prides itself on its premium produce , of which almonds play a key role . She said the South Australian Government is proud to work closely with almond growers and is committed to working with growers well into the future . Ms Scriven touched on the Labor Government ’ s connection with the Almond Board of Australia , with the Almond Centre of Excellence orchard officially unveiled by Labor seven years ago . She said she believes there is a “ very bright future ” for the industry and hoped to continue a strong relationship with the almond industry to see it continue to expand . Almond Board of Australia Chairman Peter Hayes also welcomed attendees to the conference at the Adelaide Convention Centre , expressing his joy of seeing the industry come together again after a forced break due to Covid-19 .
