Food & Hotel Indonesia
The Food and Hotel Indonesia ( FHI ) exhibition was held in Jakarta from 25-28 July 2023 . Lou Martin , the ABA Marketing Office was in attendance along with staff from a local marketing agency in Jakarta . FHI stands as Indonesia ’ s leading international exhibition for hospitality , food , and beverage sectors . In line with the industry ’ s ‘ cafe almonds ’ route to market strategy in Southeast Asia , a cooking demonstration was showcased to sample a selection of flavoured Australian almonds . This sampling initiative enhances customer engagement and provides valuable industry insights . It sparks discussions about the different almond varieties and valueadded products . During the three-day event , a database of 200 manufacturers , retailers and distributors was collected . This repository holds significant importance for the industry in maintaining strong trade relationships . Additionally , Lou Martin visited various premium supermarkets and restaurant chains in Jakarta . These included Foodhall PIM 2 , Hero PIM 1 , Ranch Market PIM 3 and JCo Donuts . These store visits provided invaluable insights into different suppliers , packaging variations , weight ranges and product variants available within supermarkets and cafes in Jakarta .
ABA Marketing Officer Lou Martin attended the recent Food & Hotel Indonesia event to connect with the food and hospitality sectors .
Food and Hotel Malaysia exhibition participants got a taste of Australian almonds through the popular Cafe-Almonds approach .
Food and Hotel Malaysia ( FHM ) 19-22 September
Australian Almonds ’ exhibition at Food & Hotel Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur was our industry ’ s first Malaysian promotion . This market offers significant opportunity for the Australian almond industry as it buys more than 95 % of its almonds from California . The advantage of a shorter freight time from Australia will deliver almonds in a better quality position than Californian product that has spent several months in containers . The FHM exhibition was managed by Joseph Ebbage , the ABA Market Development Manager , with assistance from a relevant local promotions agency . Consistent with our approach to trade exhibitions in Southeast Asia , we leveraged our Café-Almonds positioning and cooked and sampled almonds to exhibition participants .
