My work extends beyond the bedside into county councils , disability justice committees , and national research panels . I ’ m dedicated to integrating health policy and law with nursing to break down the barriers that stand in the way of equity and justice in healthcare . I believe that our work as nurses has the power to transform lives — not just through care but through advocacy , policy , and creating a more just world .
I ’ m ready to build that world alongside you . Let ’ s connect at the 2025 NSNA Annual Convention in Seattle , WA ( my hometown !), and create something that lasts !

Hi NSNA members ! I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve on this year ’ s NSNA Resolution Committee . I ’ m Mary Ella , a senior at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh , PA pursuing a BSN and a certificate in Global Health . Additionally , I serve as the Vice President of my school ’ s Nursing Student Association . I hope to be a pediatric transplant nurse upon graduation in the spring ! Outside of clinical and studying , I love to paint , read , and hang out with my two cats Ron and Ginny .
Resolutions are an opportunity for your voice to be heard in healthcare policy and advocacy . Whether it is things you see in a clinical day , or your passions that you advocate for , they can be brought to the NSNA community to encourage collaboration with others and advocating for policy . I encourage you to use your voice in resolutions and know that the NSNA Resolutions Committee is here to support you every step of the way ! I am looking forward to meeting you at Annual Convention in the spring , and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions .
