NSNA Mourns the Loss of Former President Adam Tebben
The National Student Nurses ’ Association ( NSNA ) is deeply saddened by the loss of Adam Tebben , a dedicated past president of NSNA . Tragically , Tebben , a flight nurse , lost his life in an Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter crash in Oklahoma .
Tebben proudly served as NSNA President from 2016-2017 and was also a member of the NSNA
Board of Directors from 2015-2016 . He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emporia State University and was studying for a second degree in nursing . Inspired by his mother , who is a registered nurse , Tebben once expressed , “ My greatest honor is to be preparing for a profession where I will devote my life to the health and well-being of others .
Furthermore , in addition to his contributions as NSNA President , Tebben held the position of Past President of the Kansas State Nurses Association ( 2022 ), President ( 2020-2021 ), and President Elect ( 2019 ). He was highly esteemed as a national speaker , frequently addressing topics of leadership and development at events throughout the country .
Dr . Kenya Williams , NSNA ’ s Executive Director , expressed profound grief at the loss of Adam Tebben . She emphasized his unwavering dedication to NSNA , nursing , and the future of healthcare , stating , “ Adam ’ s commitment to NSNA and the nursing profession was unparalleled . We will greatly miss his passion for leadership and his drive to cultivate future nursing leaders . His loss is deeply mourned as we bid farewell to a genuine advocate for nursing and an extraordinary individual .”
The entire NSNA community mourns the tragic helicopter crash in Oklahoma that claimed the lives of Adam Tebben and his fellow crew members . His contributions to the nursing profession and his selfless dedication to the health and well-being of others will forever be remembered . Our thoughts and prayers are with Adam Tebben ’ s family and loved ones during this difficult time .
